Locke Purdon (Chairman)
Locke is married to Sonja and they have three boys. Luke and Simon are Cordwalles Old Boys and presently at Hilton College and Andrew is still at Cordwalles. He is CEO of Trucksurance Risk Services and DriveSmart. He serves as a trustee on the iThemba Board. Locke enjoys golf, running & cycling in his spare time.
Garry Campbell (Vice-Chairman)
Garry is married to Trish. They have two children: Kimberly who is at UCT and Jonty, a Cordies Old Boy currently at Hilton. Garry is an attorney and the Director of Stowell & Co.
Nobuhle Khuzwayo
Nobuhle has been a Board member for 4 years and represents Rt Revd. Rubin Phillip. She is Deputy Chief Education specialist at Umgungundlovu District. She has two boys.
Doc Louw
Doc is married to Cindy and is the father of three Cordwalles Old Boys. He is currently practicing as an attorney at Geyser, Du Toit & Louw. He is the vice-president of KZN Rugby Union and Director of Natal Sharks (Pty) Ltd. He serves as a non-executive director of Belgotex Floor Coverings (Pty) Ltd.
Cameron Mackenzie (PA Chairman)
Cameron is Chairman of the Parents' Association. He is married to Min and has a daughter, Courtney at The Wykeham Collegiate and a son, Angus, at Cordwalles. He is the owner of Parklane Super Spar. Cameron, a keen paddler of 18 years has been Chairman of the Duzi Canoe Race Organising Committee for 3 years.
Gugu Ngubane
I am Gugu Ngubane. A mother of a grade 3 Cordwalles boy, Mpho and my nephew Thando is in grade 7.I only joined the board early this year. I am a public health specialist and medical doctor. My special interest is in Maternal and Child health issues related to HIV and AIDS. I work as a consultant for the National Department of Health. I love music, dancing and political debates.
Guy Pearson
Guy is an ex-officio member of the Cordwalles Board in his position as Rector of Michaelhouse. He has been on the Board since 2002 and has acted in an advisory capacity. He is married to Maree and has two children: Megan & Justin.
Bishop Rubin Phillip
Anglican Bishop of Natal and Visitor to the School. Bishop Phillip is married to Rosemary, a school teacher. They have one son, Lance. Their other son, Byron died tragically early in 2009 . They also have two grandchildren: Megan and Richard.
Gill Platt
Gill has served on the board since 2003 and serves on the Marketing committee. She served on the Parents' Association and has been a Class Mother. Gill is the mother of two ex-Cordwalles Boys: Nick and Alex, who attend Hilton College at present. She is married to Justin and works with him in his business. Gill also offers a PR service to clients of her former advertising and PR Consultancy.
Zola Duma-Songca
Zola has served on the board since 2004. She is married to Pat and they have two boys; Anele is at Cordwalles and Olwethu at Michaelhouse. Zola is a practicing medical doctor in private practice with an HIV specialty and serves part time at the Edendale Hospital HIV clinic. She enjoys interior decoration, reading, eating out and traveling.
Dean Strachan (PA representative)
Dean is an Old Boy of Cordwalles. he is Vice-Chairman of the Parents' Association. He has been on the Board since 2007. His role is to serve as a conduit for the PA and parents. He is married to Debbie and they have two children: Chelsea who is at the Wykeham Collegiate and James who is at Cordwalles. Dean is a practicing attorney.
Flick Wright
Flick's role on the Board is to champion the cause of Education. As there are currently approximately 60 families with daughters at The Wykeham Collegiate and sons or nephews at Cordwalles, Flick believes it is important to maintain and strengthen links and associations between the two schools. Flick is recently widowed and has a daughter.
Duncan Taylor (Finance)
Duncan is a newly elected Board Member and serves on the Finance Committee as its current chairman. Duncan is a chartered accountant and a partner/owner in private practice, with an interest, and speciality in agricultural tax. He is married to Nicola and they have two children - a son, Ryan at Cordwalles and a daughter Rachel who attends The Wykeham Collegiate.
Graham Evans (Property & Maintenance)
Graham is Chairman of the Property and Maintenance Committee. He is married to Kerry and they have three children – Georgie is a student at Stellenbosch , Katie is in her final year at The Wykeham Collegiate and Murray who is a Cordies old boy , is in Churchill House at Hilton College. He is involved in agriculture and enjoys the bushveld , paddling , the occasional game of golf and watching rugby.
