Lillemor Elliott was brought up in Hillcrest when it was still a village and attended Edgewood College. She taught at Howick Prep, Pinetown Senior primary and then Hillcrest Primary, marrying Gavin, who at the time was also teaching! After their first son, Dane Timothy was born, they decided to experience a different lifestyle and culture, gain experience and travel whilst living in the UK for nearly 8 years. Gavin’s career had also taken a different turn to IT network consultancy.

Lucy Usher 
(Director of Drama)

In the last term of 2005, Lucy made the move
from High School to Prep School, having taught Drama, English and Geography at Maritzburg College since 1994.
At Maritzburg College, she was the Subject Head for Speech of Drama and was also the Director of Cultural Affairs for two years.

Lucy has always had a passion for the arts, majoring in Drama at the University of Natal and doing her Honours degree in Dance and Theatre Arts, followed by an HDE also at UNP. She directed a number of productions at Maritzburg College, often doing the choreography for the musicals and was very involved in the annual “Millennium Funk” (a High schools’ Dance Programme) at Hilton College for six years. She has also been involved in marking of both the theory and Practical Drama examinations at matric level and has lead several workshops at the various High Schools in Pietermaritzburg and with the Drama teachers in KZN. With a shift in focus to a younger set of pupils, she hopes to engender a passion for Drama and performance with the boys at Cordwalles, focusing on developing their confidence and group work skills and to produce memorable shows for the boys to enjoy.

She is married to Glen, an attorney and has three children; Katy and Tori who are at St John’s DSG and Tom who is at Cordwalles.
