GRADE 6 VISIT TO MARUTSWA FOREST

The Cordwalles Preparatory School Grade 6 boys went to Marutswa Forest. It is a wonderful conservation project in Bulwer consisting of a beautiful walk through magnificent and ancient trees(some which are over 300 years old!).
The guide - Simphwe pointed out many plants, shrubs, trees and bushes and explained to the boys their benefits to people. Fortunately the boys had learnt at Cordwalles about the traditional and western cures of medicine, so they could now see, touch and experience the plants' magical cures. After the walk Simphwe made 'muthi' which was to cure stomach illness. He crushed and boiled the plants and then offered it to those who would like a sip if they wanted to! It was a very interesting day and a magical experience of nature's fantastic healing plants.
BOARDERS' OUTING TO THE BEACH
The boarders from Cordwalles Preparatory School travelled by school bus to Durban where they spent the day on the beach enjoying the beginning of the Summer season. Fun in the sea, making sand castles, eating ice creams and having a picnic lunch was a great treat for all the boys.

Enjoying the sea were Marcus Reeves (from Zambia). Tristan Blewett (from Botswana), Philani Ngcobo (from Zululand) and Andre Reeves (from Zambia).
