An enthusiastic group of Grade 4 boys from Cordwalles Preparatory School went out to see how Proteas are farmed in the Dargle. This outing ties in with their theme of 'Proudly South African' as they study our national symbols as well as vegetation typical of our country. A lovely morning was had by all as Mark and Patty Perry (owners of Misty Meadows Farm and KwaZulu Natal Flora) taught the boys all they need to know about Protea farming!
The highlight for the boys was finding the biggest King Protea out in the fields and receiving their own bunch of beautiful Proteas to take home. This was an outing that many of them will never be able to forget!
Photo : Clutching their beautiful Proteas are Steven Kriel, Caylim Lochner, Matthew Barrett, Joshua Denny-Dimitriou and Jashvin Pandoo.
