Titchmarsh, Carl (1988 - 1992)
He continued at DHS and then did Civil Engineering at University in Durban. Without practical experience he battled to get a job paying more than minimum wages so looked further afield in England. He was accepted into the Brittish Army (Royal Engineers) and completed my basic training at Sandhurst in April 2003. He is now in his second year of a four year contract and loving every minute of it. He does quite a lot of travelling around with the army - sailing trips, hikes, etc. One of his tasks was to organise a five day hike anywhere in the world for 12 chaps from his intake. He brought them all out to SA and they hiked in the Drakensberg. We then took them all to Sodwana and a tour around the battlefields at Rourkes Drift.
Carl also plays rugby for the army and is hoping to come out to SA again soon with the rugby team. If he does, I will get him to come to the school and give you more details, if you would like that. I am sure that many of the staff will have changed - I hope some of the old faithfuls are still there! Carl loved the time he spent at Cordwalles, and I am sure that it put him in good stead for the rest of his life. It was more like an extended family than a school! Keelan, Phil (1989 - 1993)

Having completed std.6 at Cordwalles in 1993 I went to Kearsney College. I matriculated in 1997 and proceeded to take a year off playing golf and, as my parents put it, 'Mature!'.
In 1999 I went to HOSTA Hotel School, one of the most prestigious private hotel schools in Leysin, Switzerland. I also attended Glion Hotel School to finish off my honours degree and graduated in June 2001. Since then I have been working on the worlds most famous cruisliner the 'Queen Elizabeth 2' and am enjoying the sailor's life, having circumnavigated the globe on 3 separate occasions during her 'World Cruises'.
For those that did know me I am still living in Malawi when I am not travelling on the ship 10 months of the year! Anyone who would like to contact me for any reason can reach me with the details listed below:

Montgomery, David (1988-1997)
I spent 10 great years at Cordwalles, followed by 1yr at Hilton before completing my education on the lush west-coast of Australia.  Now, after close to 6yrs at varsity, also in Perth, I've got my bachelor of commerce majoring in finance, and am in the final stage of my bachelor of chemical engineering.  I spent time studying in the states, based at the Duluth campus of the University of Minnesota, thoroughly enjoying curling, snowboarding and other subzero sports.  For the past year I've been working as a project manager for the past year on various infrastructure-related projects, and have recently accepted a position at Perth's BP Kwinana Refinery.  I'm interested to hear from old boys and teachers that shared my time there, or anyone else with an interesting anecdote about the place.

Montgomery, Tim (1994-1998)
I attended Cordwalles for a relatively short time, from 1994 in Class 0 until 1998 in Std. 1. Fondest memories of the school plays. Anyone still with video footage of The Pied Piper or Jack and the Beanstalk can find me posing as a lame boy and the giant's maid (ahem), in the respective plays.I then left for Western Australia where I am now living, finishing off my last year of school before planning to move on to a double degree of BSc and Veterinary Science.It would be great to catch up with some of the guys that I went to school with.

Keelan, Calvin (1999)

I am an old boy to Cordwalles, I studied there for one year, completing Grade 6 in 1999. I am Phillip Keelan's brother who was there from 1989 - 1993. Once I left there I went to Peterhouse in Zimbabwe where I studied for another 4 years doing my GCSE's. I then made my too the UK where I have just finished a diploma in Popular Music. I formed a band while I was at college as part of the course which I am touring Malawi with in September. After that I am going to do a degree in sound engineering in London.
Since writing this Calvin: recently got a distinction for his degree in audio engineering in Central London.  He hopes to follow in his brother footsteps & will be working on cruise ships when he turns 21.  He is currently working for Cresta Hotel in Lilongwe Malawi as sales executive.

Dewes, Ross Patrick (1992-2000)
Left Cordies at the end of 2000 for St Charles where I did as well as a serious "cruise" would allow. Varsity Pass (end 2005), 1st team hockey, 2nd team cricket, football and basketball.

Spent 2006 on a gap at Tala Game Reserve where I worked :
- as an assistant to the Head Ranger;
- burning fire breaks and fixing fences;
- repairing vehicles in the workshops;
- as a barman at functions and at the various Lodges;
- as a maintainance man doing electrical stuff;
- as the "manager" of the potato packing operation on the neighbouring Tala Fresh Produce enterprise;
- at trying to drink all the booze in the Greater Tala/Eston district.

I went to Rhodes University in February 2007 (where fortunately they don't drink) to study (I hope) BSc majoring in zoology and environmental science.

King, Ryan (1992-2000)
Well I started Cordwalles in 1992 and finished in 2000. Having gained a solid foundation at 'Cordies', it was with great excitement that I moved on to Further my education at Michaelhouse! There I excelled in service orientated projects and played squash, tennis and hockey. After leaving at the end of 2005 I took six months "off" and worked as a waiter  and in July 2006 went off to The Bush Academy to start training as a Professional Field Guide in a one year course ( 2 years of work in 6 months and 6 months practical at a game reserve). However there were some complications and although I had done and passed the 1st 6 months I was unable to do my practical therefore preventing my graduation. Contrary to all that I I am proud to say that I managed to qualify as a Professional Field Guide on the 11/11/07 and I still have the upper hand from my knowledge gained from those 6 months! I hope to have a job by the start of next year (2008) and I am looking forward to a challenge of excelling in this profession.
