OLD BOYS’ DAY 6th February 2010

Old Boys’ from the 1930’s to the 1990’s came together on one of the hottest days of the year to reconnect with each other and to celebrate the school’s 98th Birthday.
Tea & Coffee were served in the Grass Quad before Chapel.   Roy Gathorne (Class of 1934) and his wife Barbara  joined us along with Denys Pennngton (Class of 1939) and his wife Vida.    Chapel was followed by a stroll around the grounds and up to the Pavilion to watch the 1st Team Cricket’s victory over St. Charles and enjoy a cool drink.     Lunch took place in the Dining Room and tables were made up from the 1940’s, 1950’s, 1960/70’s, 1980/90’s.      The Headmaster, Simon Weaver was joined by others from his Class of 1975 and celebrated their 35th Anniversary of Leaving School.    The Class of 1950 celebrated their 60th Anniversary and Brian Mollard, who left Cordwalles in 1943 left 67 years ago.     John & Robin Hamilton jointly cut the birthday cake to a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday.
Do diarise February 5th next year as Old Boys’ Day and come along and join us and celebrate the 99th Birthday of the school .
