General Questions

Q: What denomination is Cordwalles?    A: Anglican
Q: Is Chapel compulsory?       A: Yes
Q: How many boys per class?    A: Class sizes range from between 18 & 24.
Q: What is Cordwalles' policy on bullying?    A: Cordwalles has a policy of a "Hurt-Free Environment". We do not tolerate bullying or harassment. Respect for others is expected.
Q: Is Cordwalles concerned about manners?    A: Yes indeed. Boys are expected to behave in a respectful & polite manner in the classroom, on the sports field, in the dining room and around the school at all times.
Q: Does Cordwalles have a Code of Conduct?    A: Yes we do,please go to: Code of Conduct .
Q: Is Music offered at Cordwalles?    A: Yes. The boys are exposed to many types of music. For more information go to: Music.
Q: Does Cordwalles have a Community Outreach program?    A: Yes. The boys are reminded of those less fortunate than themselves with a program each term.

Pre-Primary

Q: What does "Inky" stand for?    A: Incubator (getting our little boys ready for the big wide world)
Q: Do the pre-primary boys were a uniform?    A: Yes, it is very casual and hardwearing. Go to Uniforms.
Q: Is there Aftercare for working parents?    A: Yes, children, however need to be collected at 17h00.

Q: What are the school hours?    A: 07h40-12h30
Q: Must the Inky boys attend Saturday school?    A: Specific Saturdays only, parents are notified ahead of time.

Junior Primary

Q: What are the school hours?    A: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 07h40-12h50; Tuesday & Thursday 07h40-14h00
Q: Must Junior Primary boys attend Saturday school?    A: Specific Saturdays only, parents are notified ahead of time.
Q: Is there Aftercare for working parents?    A: Yes, children, however need to be collected at 17h00.
Q: Can my child board?    A: No, The Junior Boarders (Grade 1 to Grade 3) have been phased out and we no longer accommodate them. However, they can flexi-board should you require short-term accommodation.

Senior Primary

Q: What are the school hours?    A: Grade 3: 07h40-14h00; Grade 4-7: 07h40-14h45 (Sport commences at 15h00).
Q: What stationery must my child provide?    A: Initial stationery items are issued by the school, subsequent items are charged to the school account. All exercise, homework and text books are also provided by the school.

Boarding

Q: Do you offer flexi-boarding?    A: Yes, the daily rate is R200.00 for Grade 1-7's.
Q: In the event of an emergency who should I contact?    A: Mr Hall; his number is 083 415 8298.
Q: Must clothes be marked?    A: Yes, most definitely. Name tags can be ordered through the school shop. Please contact School shop
Q: Can somebody else sew the label onto my child's clothes?    A: Yes, this is possible. Please contact Sister Kylie Townsend.
