Phillippa matriculated at Girls High School in Pietermaritzburg. She studied at Edgewood Teachers’ Training College and Natal College of Education. She has a Diploma in Education, majoring in Speech and Drama and General Science, a Higher Diploma in Education, majoring in Biblical Studies and Remedial Education, and a Further Diploma in Education, majoring in isiZulu.
Phillippa previously taught at Epworth Primary School and prior to that, at various other schools in Kwa-Zulu Natal. She has also recently had experience in teaching in the Middle East. She was the co-ordinator of the Early Years section of an international school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and a class teacher in a private Emirate school in Dubai. She has experience in curriculum development working with the Victoria, Australia curriculum and the American curriculum.
She has taught in every grade from Grade 1 class teaching to Grade 11 Maths subject teaching. She thus has experience in teaching a broad range of ages, skills, subjects and outcome requirements. She is passionate about education and in particular in special needs teaching and in integration of students into mainstream classes and schools.
